The SkeeterVac mosquito exterminator is a portable, propane-powered unit that creates an attractant called Octenol used along with heat and moisture. Mosquitoes are drawn to the CO2 – like a mammal, in which the LP Gas produces once ran through the catalytic converter. While some mosquitoes will get stuck on the TacTrap (the black and white portion of the trap surrounding) the majority will get sucked into the powerful vacuum.
Only with a SkeeterVac you can vary the amount of attractant emitted to different flying insect species in your backyard – it’s as easy as adjusting a dial.
We recommend, as soon as mosquitoes begin becoming a nuisance is when continuous operation should begin. It’s made to operate 24/7 during mosquito season. If only used part-time, mosquitoes will repopulate. Results will worsen if only used during certain hours as certain mosquito species seek blood throughout the day and night.
It will take approximately 4 to 6 weeks before seeing a significant reduction in adult female mosquitoes and the biting insect population.
You will need to replace the propane tank, TacTrap and BaitBlock about once a month.

- Within 4 to 6 weeks you should see a significant reduction in the adult egg laying females that are being removed from your surroundings.
- Maintenance only takes mere minutes. When the propane tank is empty, simply change it out, replace the sticky trap and empty the vacuum trap.
- For max performance replace the FineLure trap every 60 days.
